IKEA Greenwich

In Partnership with McLaughlin & Harvey Construction, Constructional Timber was tasked with the design, supply, manufacture and install of IKEA Greenwich.

Winner of the Sustainability leaders’ awards for building/Infrastructure of the year IKEA Greenwich consisted of; a Larch Glulam brise soleil façade, a pair of Siberian larch, cranked rooflights as well as a Siberian larch and Spruce CLT roof pavilion.

 

Our works assisted in achieving the company’s most sustainable store they have ever built as a result of five years carefully researching, consultating, designing and constructing. The project’s aim was to open the UK’s most sustainable retail establishment in the UK along with the vision to become the company’s leading flagship store.

 

IKEA’s vision was to create a sustainable shopping environment while requesting a warm and welcoming feel for the customer. This made the selection of materials vitally important and the decision to utilise Siberian Larch Glulam to form the façade, rooflights and pavilion have met the expectations of the client and customers alike.
