Working in a site of special scientific interest and a special area of conservation, the highest protected status in the UK with the largest collection of ancient Oak trees in Western Europe. Constructional Timber was tasked with the design, manufacture, supply and install of this unique structure.
Winner of the Solid wood project of the year award and the Project of the year award at the Structural Timber awards 20201, Constructional Timber, in collaboration with Feltham Construction, was tasked with the Design supply and installation of Ibstock place School refectory, which highlighted the use of CLT Panels to compliment the Spruce Glulam Beams .
Winner of the Sustainability leaders’ awards for building/Infrastructure of the year and awarded highly commended at the Structural Timber awards 2020, IKEA Greenwich consisted of; a Siberian Larch Glulam brise soleil façade, a pair of Siberian larch, cranked rooflights as well as a Siberian larch and Spruce CLT roof pavilion.
As the client was a founding member of a chain of custody scheme, all timbers supplied had to have full certification. The Project was awarded a BREEAM 'Outstanding' rating and 99% of construction waste was diverted from Landfill. The building itself is open to the public, for more information visit the WWF website.
A new luxury terminal in Manchester airport providing a premium and convenient service to customers. This was constructed with PEFC certified Larch externally and Spruce Glulam Beams internally.
